Monday 16th August 2021.
The head of state on Monday morning had a meeting with Kenyan athletes who represented us at this year's Olympics at Tokyo.
The good news is that the heroes will smile to the bank after they were awarded good amount of money for their specific wins.
Those who won gold medals will get a total of one million Kenya shillings, 750,000 and 500,000 for the silver and bronze medals respectively.
There will also be an additional 200,000 for all the atheletes who represented the country together with all the officials.
The president thanked them for their performance that put the country the top in the African continent and 19th globally.
Kenya won a total of 10 medals which was the best in the African continent. Kenyatta now challenges them to get more for us.
Additionally the president challenged our sports stakeholders to do everything to ensure that the country will now be competing globally.
Congratulations to our heroes.
