According to inside sources, Arsenal’s football director Edu Gasper has drafted a three-man transfer plan that will include the selling of Bernd Leno in the next transfer window. This follows after Ramsdale showed that he was capable of filling the number one spot at Arsenal. In order to cut down their wages and fully invest in young players, the Arsenal board is seriously considering this transfer plan.
No club has approached Arsenal for the goalkeeper but suitor clubs are expected to stream in their transfer request for the 29-year-old. Mikel Arteta is however said to be against this idea because such decisions should be made towards the latter stages of the season. Arteta wants to analyze how each goalkeeper performs this season before giving his final verdict on whether Bernd Leno should stay or not.
Atletico Madrid are still in hot pursuit to sign Arsenal’s striker Alexander Lacazette whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Recently, the French striker disclosed that he will not be renewing his contract with the club as he seeks to join a new club with new ambitions next season.
Arsenal have already started scouting for his replacement as Spanish club Atletico Madrid launch proposal’s for the striker. Currently, Lacazette is the second most paid player in the Arsenal squad meaning Atletico Madrid will have to come up with a lucrative offer in order to sign the French striker. Lacazette had previously been linked with AS Roma and his formative club Lyon but neither club made any efforts to sign him last summer.
Mikel Arteta has been praised by a number of football fans who have noticed that ever since the Spaniard took over the club, his focus has been on developing a young generational squad and the recent signing have clearly reflected his vision for the club. In every in-field position, he has recruited at least one young player. Going forward, fans expect that the young players will develop to be the cornerstones of the club and there will be less dependency on the senior players.
