Despite Manchester United offering him a two-year consultancy role after the end of his interim spell, German tactician, Ralf Rangnick is now said be edging closer to being appointed the new manager of the Austria national team.
According to the latest multiple British reports, the 63 year old is considering an offer from the Austria Football Federation who are looking to hire him as the replacement for Franco Foda and that an official announcement about the move could be made in the next 24hours.
Taking over at the Theatre of Dreams back in November, 2021 following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Rangnick have had a mixed spell at the club with him failing to get the best out of the team in the recent games amid dressing room toxicity.
However, despite the poor performances in the pitch, the German is being lauded for his impressive work behind the scenes with him helping the Red Devils' top brass to identify the best manager in Erik ten Hag and has also been crucial in guiding the club in the best recruitment strategy.
