Pep Guardiola's Mother Dies of Coronavirus

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has lost his mother to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the club has confirmed.

“The Manchester City family are devastated to report the death today of Pep’s mother Dolors Sala Carrió in Manresa, Barcelona after contracting Corona Virus. She was 82-years-old,” read a tweet from Manchester City.

The Blues have gone ahead to condole with the family of the tactician during this trying time for him.

“Everyone associated with the club sends their most heartfelt sympathy at this most distressing time to Pep, his family and all their friends,” the defending champions added.

In the English Premier League, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi was the player to test positive for coronavirus.

However, the 19 year old English player has already recovered.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta had also tested positive for the disease. The Premier League remains suspended.

However, there have been positive signs that the top leagues in Europe are likely to resume, with Bayern Munchen resuming their training today. However, the Bundesliga giants confirmed that training will only be for small groups and not the whole team at a go.
