Chelsea set to repeat Carney Chukwuemeka Trick to Sign a 19-year-old Defender

The summer transfer window is nearing its end, and Thomus Tuchel still needs to add players. The main areas of focus are defensive and offensive reinforcements. Chelsea is interested in a number of players, including Wesley Fofana, Frenkie De Jong, and Aubamayeng.

The Blues are also interested in signing Peterborough's Ronnie Edward. Chelsea have opened talks with Peterborough for the 19-year-old defender after loaning goalkeeper Lucas Bergstrom to the Weston Homes Stadium.

Chelsea spent £20 million in a few days to sign Carney Chukwuemeka in a swift deal and they are looking to do the same to sign Ronnie Edward from the Championship side. However they are facing competition from Manchester City, United, Southampton, Tottenham and Aston Villa. Edward is a promising young player who started 31 games in his rookie season at the age of 19.

Edwards was a member of the England Under-19 squad that won the European Championship this summer, alongside Chukwuemeka and Chelsea Academy graduates Teddy Sharman-Lowe, Bashir Humphreys, and Harvey Vale. Having said that, the young defender is a perfect fit for Chelsea.
