European Golden Shoe Battle For The Second place As We Already Know The Winner

Lazio's Ciro Immobile took the Golden shoe in 2019/20 and the race for 2020/21 is on as the best strikers across Europe look to boost their tallies and be crowned. The following is a list of the top three scorers across Europe.

1. Roberto Lewandowski. ( 40 goals)

Inarguably the best striker in the world right now, he hit a milestone in his career in Bayern's 2-2 draw at Freiburg. It will be a memorable game for him as he equaled the Bundesliga record set by Gerd Muller in 1971/72 by reaching 40 goals this season.

Munich talisman had an outstanding season in terms of productivity last season, scoring 34 goals in the league but missed out on the golden shoe to Ciro Immobile.

Lewandowski has a commanding 80 points in the Golden shoe standings ahead of Messi and Ronaldo.

2. Lionel Messi. (30 goals).

Barcelona captain will be devasted with his side's underwhelming performance this season, they couldn't make the most of their chances he created in the buildup. The Argentine has 30 goals and 60 points in the European golden boot standings.

Messi has scored seven goals in his last seven matches and his 30 goals have come from 35 appearances this season.

3. Christiano Ronaldo. (29 goals).

The Portuguese international striker is just one goal behind his great rival Messi. Juventus have had an underwhelming season. However, they had within their ranks Christiano who has made things a little better from worse this season. Ronald netted twice last week, scoring against Inter Milan and Sassuolo.

He has scored 29 goals from 33 appearances in Serie A for the Old Lady this season. A clear statement on how important he has been considering he is in his 30s and most bodies start to tire up at this age.

Andre Silva 27 goals, Kylian Mbampe 26 goals, and Erling Haaland 25 goals are the closest contenders behind Messi and Ronaldo. Below is a full list of the top scorers across Europe's leagues.
