Erik ten Hag Has Given Man United Dressing Room What Pep Guardiola Fears Most In EPL

English Premier League returns this weekend after two weeks break with a good number of matches scheduled for 1st and 2 October.

Pep Guardiola is set to lock horns with Erik ten Hag for the first time since the Dutchman joined the Premier League as a head coach. It must not be lost on us that Erik ten Hag was part of Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich coaching staff that terrorized the Bundesliga for years.

The Blue side of Manchester dominated over their Red rivals last season, bagging six points from their two meetings in the league. Cityzens thrashed the Red Devils 2-0 at Old Trafford before humbling them 4-1 when they visited the City in the second leg of the season.

The two heavyweights have been in good forms if not their best as they are currently sitting 2nd and 5th respectively on the Premier League table, Manchester City having played a game more than their arch rivals.

United, despite losing two opening matches to Brighton and Brentford have significantly improved and the credits have always been given to Erik ten Hag and the signings he did.

According to the statistics, Manchester United have been aggressive in the defense line more than they were last season owing to addition of Lisandro Martinez and Eriksen to their ranks whose stats have been out of this world.

And Pep Guardiola has reportedly been vulnerable against teams that are aggressive as it was seen when he locked horns with Aston Villa and Newcastle who were seemingly aggressive. They did not fear Manchester City and approached the games with no-risk no-gain mentality.

If Manchester United can manage to continue with the fighting spirit they have shown in the previous outings by pressing City at the right time and winning all the battles across the pitch, it is safe that they could cause problems to Pep Guardiola.

Ralf tried with limited success to introduce the high pressing football at Manchester United last season, something that did not go unnoticed by Pep Guardiola who commented after finding 4-1 win over the German.

"It was excellent, from the first minute we played really well, we have to be really patient in the first step knowing the space is in the build up for that rhythm. Ralf tried to change United mentality. He wanted them to be more aggressive." Pep said.
