2021/22 English Premier League started on August 13, 2021. Already nine matches have been played in the current season. Liverpool is the only club that is still unbeaten while Norwich City is the only club that has not recorded a win this season.
The majority of Manchester United fans had high expectations this season after the club signed Jordan Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Cristiano Ronald. However, things are not going as planned because they have already lost three matches this season. They have lost two times at home against Aston Villa and Liverpool. Last weekend they lost at King Power Stadium to Leicester City. Currently, they are in position seven with 14 points from 9 matches. Already they have dropped from the title race and are now fighting for a spot in the top four.
Here are the only three clubs that are seriously fighting for the English Premier League trophy this season.
The European champions have been dominated since the start of the season. Tuchel has only dropped points against Manchester City and Liverpool. Currently, The Blues are topping the Premier League table with 22 points with a 20 goal difference. Chelsea has produced consecutive results this season, they have only lost against Manchester City.
The Reds struggled last season when Virgil Van Dijk was ruled out for the entire season. Their defense was weak but this season the defense has greatly improved with the addition of Konate. The club does not show any sign of weakness in all positions. No Salah is unstoppable, the Egyptian has already scored 10 goals and provided 5 assists. Liverpool is second in the Premier League standings with 21 points.
3. Manchester City
The Citizens bounced back to winning ways after losing the opening goal to Tottenham Hotspurs. Pep Guardiola has transformed Manchester City since taking over and they are a threat to any club in the league now. They have a good squad and a well-experienced coach that is capable of bringing the best out of his players.
