Sam Nyamweya Backed By Football Stake Holders To Head FKF

Football stakeholders have settled on former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Sam Nyamweya or Twaha Mbarak, who previously served as vice-chairman, to replace Nick Mwendwa.

This comes after Nick Mwendwa and CEO Barry Otieno were removed from office by sports cabinet secretary Amina Mohammed, who disbanded the federation due to poor state of football management across the country and misappropriation of funds.

CS Amina went ahead and appointed a caretaker committee headed by Linda Ogutu as the secretariat to run the affairs of the federation and to give more time for inspection.

The appointment of the Committee has received criticism from former football players like Denis Oliech and coach Jacob Ghost Mulee who reiterated that the committee should be for people who understand the intrigues of football, what FIFA means, what the harmony between FKF, FIFA and government can bring.

Most Kenyan fans have disagreed with Nyamweya being supported to head FKF.
