On December 14 2022, news sprouted from a verifiable source indicating that a Kenyan worker in Qatar lost his life while he was in a stadium during the ongoing FIFA World Cup match.

As per the source, the deceased who has been identified as John Njau Kibue was working as a security guard before he met his untimely death.
Prior to his death, he fell at Lusail Stadium during the quarter-final match between Argentina and Netherlands thereby getting serious injuries.
Efforts of medics to restore back his good health bore no fruits as his condition deteroriated as days went by.
He was later transferred to Hamad Medical Hospital’s intensive care unit but sadly passed away while recieving treatment on December 13, 2022.
Despite his demise, his family has however been assured that it will receive all the outstanding dues and monies owed.
As a family, we pray that God may comfort his loved ones especially during this time of grief and that his soul may rest in peace.
