Chelsea will be hosting al halal tonight in a club world cup semi final match. The blues are looking to win the trophy for the first time in their history. Chelsea recently named the squad that will be participating in the competition.
Chelsea have a luxury of choosing from almost a fit squad for the tournament. Chelsea will however be without Thomas tuchel in the dug out in todays match. The Chelsea boss tested positive for covid on Saturday and is currently isolating back in England.
Chelsea have the likes of Peter Cech to offer motivation to the players. It has also been reported that tuchel is in regular contact with his assistant and is giving advice to him. Chelsea welcomed both edwourd mendy and Ben chilwell to the group in abu Dhabi.
Mendy joined them from Senegal where he recently helped his country win the African cup of nations. Mendy was registered in the squad and ie eligible to participate in todays match. Chilwell will be offering support to his teammates as he and Reece James were not registered despite travelling with the rest of the squad.
