Arsenal: Giroud's Advice to Arteta, Star Striker Targeted, Maitland Niles Praises Ozil

Olivier Giroud

Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has urged Arsenal to emulate other successful clubs in Europe if they want to win trophies in the next few years. Giroud advised Arsenal’s football director Edu Gasper to spend money on the current squad so that assembling an elite squad becomes a quick process rather than depending on very young players. Giroud said that if Arsenal want to win trophies, then they must go deep into their pockets.

Giroud emphasized his point by tagging Chelsea where he pointed out that buying Lukaku has increased Chelsea’s odds of winning the league by a significant margin. He added that now Chelsea are considered to be a very sharp team offensively and defensively.

Paul Onuachu

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Championship striker Paul Onuachu who plays for Rotherham United. Paul Onuachu’s valuation stands at €13 Million which makes him a good gamble for the Gunners who are searching for Lacazette’s replacement. Onuachu once admitted that he was a red hot fan of Arsenal since his childhood days and joining Arsenal in the future will definitely be a huge step up for him.

Arsenal have penciled in the 24-year-old in the transfer list which is full of other young talents. Although it is too early now, Mikel Arteta has reportedly set his eyes on a particular unnamed striker in the English Premier League.

Ainsley Maitland Niles

According to Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland Niles, Mesut Ozil is the best Arsenal player that he has ever had the privilege to play alongside. Maitland said that Ozil’s intelligence in football is second to none and that is why he a rare species in the football jungle. He also said that Ozil’s humility and selflessness are what make him a better person outside football.
