Messi Confirms His Retirement Date Ahead Of FIFA World Cup Final On Sunday

When listing world's best footballers of all time, it is quite obvious that Messi's name will be among the top names in the list.Currently at 35 years old, Messi was born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.Current updates indicate that the forward has confirmed that his appearance at the FIFA World Cup final on Sunday December 18 will be his last World Cup match for Argentina.

Messi marked his Argentina national senior team debut in August 17, 2005 in a friendly match against Hungary aged 18 years old.He scored his first goal for the team in a friendly match against Croatia in 2006.To date, Messi has a total of 171 appearances for Argentina out of which he has scored a total of 96 goals.

Some of his achievements at the national team level include 2021 Copa America title, 2022 UEFA Cup Of Champions title, 2008 Olympic Games title and a FIFA U-20 World Cup title in 2005.
