Arsenal: Arteta's Attacking Mistake, Nketiah's Response to Contract Extension Talks, and More

Martin Odegaard

Martin Odegaard has deservedly won the respect and admiration of the Arsenal fans because not only has he been leading in the dressing room (Captain's arm band), he has also been leading on the pitch with the exquisite way that he plays. Odegaard has been Arsenal's focal point in attack because he is the one who often dictates the transition of defensive play to attack and vice versa. The fact that he has been able to maintain his fitness at high levels all this time just proves how durable of a deal Arsenal made with Real Madrid for the €35 Million rated attacker.

The problem however is that Mikel Arteta is too dependant on the Norwegian in Arsenal's play and there is a growing fear within the fans that when/if Odegaard gets injured, Arsenal will definitely be handicapped when it comes to attacking opponents.

Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah has done a very good job for Arsenal in the past four appearances for the Gunners and many are wondering whether Arsenal are still considering letting him go in the summer. The 22 year old has now scored 4 goals in 4 starting appearances for the Gunners, not to mention how lethal of an attacking threat he has been to opposition defenses in recent outings. Arteta has always made it clear that he believes that Eddie Nketiah would be an important figure for his plans for the club but he cannot force him to stay.

When asked about whether he would want to extend his contract, he had this to say. "The fans at the club are massive support to the players and the staff. Having this experience at first hand is definitely priceless but I won't disclose plans about my future just yet. But I have to say I really feel the connection between the players and the fans."

Aaron Ramsdale

Aaron Ramsdale and Co have failed to keep a cleansheet in the last 7 appearances for the Gunners and that has greatly affected Ramsdale's chances of winning the Golden glove. Infact, he has been excluded from the Team of the Season despite spectacular perfomances earlier in the campaign. Hopefully in the next 3 matches he will be able to do magic for the Gunners to ensure a Champions League qualification.
