Manchester United and Brazilian winger Antony Santos, has send a message to his supporters after being eliminated from the world cup competition yesterday.
Brazil were shown the exit door from the competition by Croatia, through the penalty shoot outs. Note that, Antony was introduced in the second half of that game, and truly saying the winger produced an eye catching performance. Unfortunately, he could not help Brazil from exiting the tournament.
Marquihnos and Rodrygo lost the penalties, giving Croatia an edge to play the semi-finals of the world cup 2022.
The Manchester winger left a message on his Instagram page as he wrote:
"First of all i need to say how proud I am for each of you who has lived this dream with me. It's been years, months, weeks, days and more days thinking about bringing this title at home, the country of football. And we tried everything, every drop of sweat poured, every bug, every vibration, every dribble and goal. We made it! Today, there's sadness of elimination, of an interrupted dream."
The Brazilian star promised supporters that they will bounce back strong as players, and therefore let them take it that way, for bygones be bygones.
He also added: "However, iam sure that we will come back even stronger, more United and with more desire to give joy to all who cheer for us."
Antony who is now leaving Qatar and of course joining United's squad later on, will now have to put his focus on his Premier league side as United are also in the title race this season. Casemiro and Fred are also United stars who will be joining the rest of the squad later on, after the shock world cup exit.
