Mbappe’s ninth goal for France at World Cup finals has seen him wrestle a record away from Brazil legend Pele.
Mbappe reached nine World Cup goals in just 11 games. That means he surpassed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo (8), while he tied Lionel Messi who has three more World Cup participations.
Mbappe had scored four goals in his debut World Cup campaign in 2018 when France won the title in Russia.
