Well, it should not come as a surprise that Pitso Mosimane is the highest paid manager in Africa. This is because the club he manages, Al Ahly is one of the top performing clubs in Africa. Pitso collects a whooping salary of $120,000 from Al Ahly each month.
Pitso who is a former footballer from South Africa is regarded as one of the best football managers in Africa. He won trophies both at Supersport United and Mamelodi Sundowns before joining Al Ahly on September 30th, 2020. With Al Ahly, the South African has already won the CAF Champions League, CAF Super League, Egypt Cup and led the club to finish third in FIFA Club World Cup. It is arguable he deserves such a huge amount of money as his salary.
2. Patrice Cateron
Well, he is also a manager of an Egyptian club. Patrice is the manager of Zamalek which is one of top African clubs playing in the Egyptian League. Cateron collects the same amount of money as the Al Ahly manager each month. Cateron receives $120,000 each month at Zamalek.
Cateron is a former French football player who was a defender. However, his success in football has come when he is a manager. He has coached several clubs including Al Ahly, TP Mazembe, Wadi Degla, Raja Casablanca, Dijon, Mali national team among others.
He has initially coached Zamalek from December 2019 up to September 2020 when he left the club announcing his retirement. However, he was again appointed the club's manager on March 12th, 2021 where he is paid $120,000 per month.
3. Stuart Baxter
The Kaizer Chiefs manager is the third on the list of top three highest paid managers. Baxter collects $60,000 as salary each month from Kaizer Chiefs. If you have never heard of Kaizer Chiefs, it is one of the clubs which play in the South African League.
The currently 67 years has been football manager for so many years and has managed different clubs as well as countries. He first managed Kaizer Chiefs between 2012 and 2015. However, he was again appointed as the new manager of Kaizer Chiefs in June 2021 where his contact had a whooping salary of $60,000 each month.
