Harambee Stars midfielder Teddy Akumu has joined Japanese top-flight side Sagan Tosu. The experienced midfielder who won CECAFA senior challenge Cup with the national team Harambee Stars has been a free agent since ending his stay in South Africa with Kaizer Chiefs.
Okumu was to join Tanzanian outfits Simba SC before the deal fell through. However, the midfielder has now joined the Japanese moneybags, and will be a teammate to another Kenyan striker Ismael Dunga.Akumu joins the side as a free agent. According to trusted sources, the deal was too good for Akumu to refuse. At the age of 30 years, the Kenyan could have just landed a lifetime deal that will see him retire with his pockets full.Although, his salary has not yet been revealed, Akumu's signing on fee could be a mouthwatering deal since he was a free agent.
We wish him all the best as he works hard in Japan. For more news updates tap on the follow link on the top right corner if you haven't done so to receive more news.
