One of the transfer sagas of last summer's transfer window was the Alex Telles to Manchester united move and the waiting game went all the way to deadline day before the deal got sealed.
United were reluctant to pay FC Porto's asking price for Telles but parted with close to £13m for the Brazilian marauding fullback who has made 13 appearances for the red devils to date.
The injury struggles of Luke Shaw was one of the key reasons Telles was brought in but also to compete for the left back spot with the former Southampton prodigy.
Although Telles is yet to hit the ground running and have an extended run in the side, Manchester united fans feel Alex Telles has been their best signing of the season.
This is because the Old Trafford fan base believe they are starting to see the best of Luke Shaw thanks to Telles arrival as the England international has upped his game in recent weeks.
Shaw's all round game has generally improved and his two assists against Southampton on Tuesday was a big reminder to England manager Gareth Southgate that the once highly rated teenager could force his way into the euro squads.
