For many years, Kenyan football fans have been made to wait for their team to produce performances that equate to the enormous talent that the country has. However, too many lackluster performances have made Kenya play second fiddle to the proceedings whenever they are required to produce a good result.

The team started their World cup qualifiers with two draws at home and away to Uganda and Rwanda respectively. These poor results led to the dismissal of Coach Jacob Ghost Mulee and was replaced by Turkish manager Engen Firat.

The former Moldova coach was tasked with the responsibility to get a result in the upcoming matches against Mali in order to keep Kenya's hope of qualifying alive.

The hopes of many Kenyans were quickly swept away as Kenya registered another poor first-half performance that saw the team go down two goals within the opening 15 minutes before conceding a third In the 30th minute.

The decision to Start Josh Onyango at right-back proved to be an awful one with the Simba defender found wanting whenever Mali went forward. The coach was forced to withdraw him in the first half and replaced him with Abdallah Hassan.

Hassan then conceded a penalty to allow Mali to score their fourth of the night just before half-time.

The performance left many Kenyans disappointed. Here are some of the reactions from fans.
