Premier League

Ole Gunnar now has the missing piece of his puzzle to finally forge a tough challenge for the title

Apart from placing second in the Premier League log table last season, Manchester United had the distinction of finishing the season unbeaten away from home. They joined Preston North End (1888/89) and Arsenal (2001/02 and 2003/04) as the fourth club to achieve this feat.

Even though they went undefeated on the road, their home form was so poor that they finished the season 10 points behind eventual league winners Manchester City. This backed up what many others had said. Many people agree that unbeaten streaks are significant, but being unbeaten at home is a quality that can help you win championships. With this in mind, MEN feels that, with league title aspirations this season, United may strive to turn Old Trafford into a fortress where PL opponents will have to perform miracles to beat them. According to their expose, the loss of a 12th man last season caused them to lose the upper hand in most games, but now that their vociferous fans are back doing what they do best, cheering them on, they will be inspired to give it their all, as evidenced by the Leeds 5-1 thumping.
