Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Van de Beek will be in the line up against Watford in the FA cup third round match scheduled tonight. United's boss also asserted that the former Ajax player is highly valued at Old Trafford despite his lack of opportunities to date. The Netherlands international has struggled to feature in the first team for United.
While Van de Beek has made 20 appearances so far in all competitions, most have come from the bench. He has only made two Premier League starts for United so far.
Tonight's clash with Watford will see the summer signing make his ninth start in all competitions for United. There has been growing talk about Van de Beek's happiness at Manchester United. However, Ole Gunnar was quick to dispel this. "Donny is going to play tomorrow (Saturday). That's another chance for him and, yes, I've spoken to him and reiterated and made him aware of how much we rate him," said Solskjaer. He added, "There's so many examples of players needing a little bit of time, quality players. We have many examples ourselves and there are other clubs with examples. Sometimes it takes time."
