Kenya's performance at the Tokyo Olympics this year has been disappointing. With athletes missing on major chances of dominance clearly exposes out the rot in the Kenyan Athletics Association. Yesterday, Kenyans had high hopes on Julius Yego who they believed beared some glimmer of hope left for team Kenya, failed to reach the qualifying mark.

Yego failed to register a legal throw in his first two attempts, setting himself for a nerve wrecking third attempt in his bid to hit the automatic mark of 83.50metres. Yego finished 24th in Javelin's throw failing to qualify for finals with a season-best of 77.34.

In recent days, the former captain tended his resignation via social media on the basis of poor leadership and management by the Athletics board.

His failure yesterday sent frustrations across the country, many taking to the social media account to express themselves.

"We're recording generally poor performances in Tokyo. Julius Yego is the latest casualty. I am not shocked. A few weeks ago I was in Elgeyo Marakwet and I saw our athletes practicing in very poor conditions. Some running on roads where they risk their life," Abuga Makori
