Man United played against Brentford in their first home pre-season match where the game ended in a draw. The stadium was packed to full capacity after Covid-19 stringent rules were eased. The team was composed of young prospect and some first team players like Mata, Matic, Lingard and Pereira who were excellent. Academy graduates proved that they can step up on big stages to fit in the footsteps of prolific stars like Marcus Rashford.
Anthony Elanga netted United's first goal in the first half before it was cancelled out by Baptiste on the brick of half time. The second half was as lively as the first one. A moment of sheer magic puts United back ahead. Raya beat away Lingard's shot, Pinnock headed it out but Pereira met it and volleyed in off the bar from all of 30 yards - Raya stood helpless.
Bruno Fernandes who was back for pre season training yesterday attended the match together with McTomnay but were at the stands with fellow United fans. Mata and Bruno waved for the home fans to welcome them back at Old Trafford after a year. The waving elicited reactions from fans and the players as United stated through official Twitter page, "Just listen to tha noise! It was great to have you...and B_Fernandes8 back at Old Trafford."
