Arsenal: Eddie Nketiah Says He Trusts Arteta, Holding's Squad Status to be Addressed, and More

Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal star striker Eddie Nketiah has admitted that his lack of gametime at Arsenal does not concern him at all because the Gunners are performing well in the league. He made this statement to clarify his stand about the management, loyalty and commitment to Mikel Arteta’s work at Arsenal as he believes that the Spaniard coach has big plans for the club. He mentioned that there is fierce competition for squad selection among the players, but that is a good thing because it keeps every player focused.

He particularly mentioned Emile Smith Rowe as a very industrious player both in training and on the pitch as he mentioned that the 21-year-old always gives 100% when called upon by the coach and that is why he starts in almost all Arsenal matches. He said that he is not sure what Arteta has planned for him, but he will continue working hard so that he attracts the attention of the coach.

Rob Holding

Arsenal fans are yet to fathom why Gareth Southgate prefers the likes of Tyrone Kings and Conor Coady over Arsenal’s Rob Holding in the England Men’s National Team. Rob Holding has been doing a marvelous job at Arsenal and it is understandable at the moment that he is not getting enough time on the pitch because of Ben White. However, his imposing defensive presence at Arsenal’s defense has been an unbreakable force and real boost for Arsenal’s hope of winning silverware this season.

It is believed however that Mikel Arteta is drafting a squad rotation routine at Arsenal so that he can ensure that all players get adequate gametime, with Rob Holding being one of the players who will be considered for increased gametime. With the World Cup fast approaching, club managers are now under immense pressure to make sure that their players perform exceptionally well to guarantee their call up to the national teams.

Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka’s performance for Arsenal has been abysmal ever since he returned from the first international break and this obviously paves way for Nicolas Pepe to fight for a place in the starting eleven. This has caught the attention of many Arsenal fans who have urged Arteta to be keener on individual performances because player's like Saka are walking scot-free for failing to create goals. Another player is Aubameyang whose inconsistency has been an issue in the past few gameweeks.
