The UEFA Euro 2020 action continues a day after France were heartbroken with an exit out of the quarter finals following a missed penalty by Kylian Mbappe. Today it will be Gareth Southgate's England playing host to Germany while Sweden take on Ukraine for the knockout stages.
England vs Germany
Both sides are determined to get through to the Quarter finals and will be vigilant not to commit any offence in a such a crucial encounter as any small error could cost the team a fortune. It will take individual brilliance to get ahead of each other given both sides are in a good form with quality squad. In the group stages Germany had lost narrowly to France but turning things around when they secured a 4-2 victory against Portugal before their draw in the most recent match in what was a deadlier group compared to the others. They have hence won 5 of their last 10 matches.
For England it has been a fantastic run of form for them unbeaten in the last ten games and impressively winning 9 of them where the only match that resulted in a draw was against Scotland. They finished first in the group table with 7 points with a win over Hungary and Croatia. They are indeed favourites to secure a spot in the next stages and will be hoping to get it better of Germany.
Sweden vs Ukraine
Ukraine will be locking horns with Sweden today eyeing a highly contested quarter finals where the winner here will be facing either of the England/ Germany winning side. The visiting side Ukraine finished third in the group stages having secured only a single win. On the other side Sweden finished first with seven points in the group E and today they will be looking to extend this fine form by winning here.
