Chelsea are becoming a more difficult side to beat as goals for the Blues come from every angle and each player is reliable to score. Recently, they had a 7-0 thrasher over bottom placed Norwich City in a Bridge match that saw Blues break records as they recorded such a big thriller in many years time while Mount recorded his first ever hat trick.
Having scored a the second goal for Chelsea against Norwich, Hudson Odoi becomes the 17th player to score a goal for Chelsea this season in all competitions. This is after 9 EPL matches, 3 group stage UEFA Champions League clashes, one league cup game and a UEFA Super Cup season opener.
Amongst the 17 goal scorers are 7 defenders namely; Ben Chilwell, Trevor Chalobah, Reece James, Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Marcos Alonso, and Andres Christensen. Of the 7, 6 have scored during EPL fixtures while Christensen netted his goal and first ever for Chelsea in a Champions League group stage round 3 fixture against Sweden's Malmo.
A rare source of goals, defensive midfielders, are also part of Chelsea's 2021/22 season goal scorers. From this position, Ng'olo Kante and Mateo Kovacic have got a goal each while Jorginho has scored twice. Kante's and Kovacic goals were netted in EPL while Jorgi's brace came through penalty spot kicks past Malmo Champions League Fixture.
From attacking midfield and forward wing stars, there are four players who scored in different battles. Recently, Mount and Hudson Odoi netted vs Norwich, Christian Pulisic scored against Crystal Palace in season opener, Kai Havertz has scored in both EPL and Champions League while Ziyech's goal in Super Cup Finals against Villarreal helped Blues head for a penalty kicks decider.
The two Chelsea strikers have both scored a number of goals for the team though there is a lot more expected from them. Romelu Lukaku has got goals for both EPL and Champions League while Timo Werner has scored in EPL and League Cup.
Isn't this a promising performance by the Blues? Every player can help the team win regardless of his position.
