Harambee Stars Great Oliech Aims To Nurture Talent Through His Foundation
Former Harambee Stars talisman and skipper Dennis Oliech is aiming to give back to football by nurturing the next superstars through his foundation.
The former Auxerre and FC Nantes attacker who started his football career at Dagoretti Santos before moving to Mathare United said through his Facebook page that he wants to help young footballers who would want to emulate him actualise their dreams through the Dennis Oleich foundation(www.dennisoliechfoundation.org).
Other than turning out for Mathare United in the domestic league, Oliech also plied his professional trade in Qatar with Al –Arabi.
Oliech is mostly remembered for helping Harambee Stars reach the 2004 African Cup of Nations staged in Tunisia, under coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee, his thunderbolt late, late in the game earning Kenya a precious 1-0 win over Cape Verde in Nairobi to spark off chaotic celebrations.
