The exit of Cristiano Ronaldo has occasioned a lot of reshuffling in the squad set up. On top of that agenda is the signing of a new Marquee striker in January to fill the empty void in the attacking department. Meanwhile, Ten Hag seems to be recruiting all the help he can get after it was recently spotted that former player Robin Van Persie was at Carrington overseeing training drills with the first team.
“The players are very talented and I believe they can reach places if they are consistent. The few hours I’ve had with them was eye opening and I am very proud of how big of a mine talent Manchester United have become. Garnacho is a good example and I like him very much,” Van Persie commented to one Manchester United news correspondent.

Van Persie’s return to Manchester United has elicited a lot of whispers in the media and general public. According to some, Ten Hag might be getting Van Persie’s legs wet for what awaits him in the near future at the club. They believe that Van Persie could be offered a coaching staff position at the club but only if he shows that he has the necessary skillset and open mind for the job.

My opinion
The second half of the season is going to be very crucial for Manchester United and therefore all hands must be on deck. Ten Hag will be hoping that nothing will be left to chance since now more than ever he has to make an impression to his potential new employers. Finishing in the top four is not going to be an easy task but the collective strength of the players and the staff will definitely get the club over the line.

Manchester United stand a big chance to finish in the top four but Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea are definitely going to narrow Ten Hag’s success rate. But even if Ten Hag fails to finish in the Champions League bracket, at least he would have had the taste of the Premier League and just how vastly contrasted it is from the Dutch Eredevisie. With the experience he has as a serial winner, Ten Hag will most certainly be a big deal next season.
