Despite the fact that Martin Odergaard was not Arsenal's most costly summer signing, he is an unsung hero of the current squad. His value is undeniable, and many believe he has the potential to become a modern-day legend under Arteta's tutelage.
Many people believe that Odergaard's future at Arsenal is secure, but a recent disclosure about his future by Mat Ryan, a former Arsenal goalkeeper, is troubling. According to Ryan, Odergaard has in the back of his mind the idea of returning to Real Sociedad, where he was fairly revolutionary when on loan from Real Madrid. This was Ryan's admission: "Before I knew Real were interested in me, he [Odegaard] told me that Real, because of his experience here, was a great team, a 10 out of 10 in everything: the team, the life here, the public... everything and now I agree with him. He’s comfortable at Arsenal, but he’s open to coming back one day, for sure."
Ryan told this to Mundo Deportivo when discussing his transition to La Liga and his new team, Real Sociedad, following his summer move.
