Todd Boehly's £4.25 billion takeover is confirmed in a statement on Chelsea's website, and the transaction is expected to close on Monday. It is a huge relief for Blues fans that the new announcement has put their worries to rest.
Not only are the fans excited, but so are the players. Mason Mount, our season MVP, wasn't shy about sharing his thoughts after the takeover was confirmed.
Mount: “Going forward with the new club owners is exciting. The Roman Abrahamovic era was fantastic for us. Obviously, the goal ahead of us is to close the gap and get there. We were in and around it until about halfway through the previous 2021/22 campaign”.
Chelsea had been inactive in the transfer market due to the sanction, but the Blues will resume their transfer mission on the takeover transaction is concluded. The blues will have a chance to negotiate contract and sign new players. Tuchel is eager to bolster his squad with new additions, and defensive reinforcement will be a top priority.
