Man United: 21Goals Striker Is Getting Closer To A Move To Old Trafford, Wijnaldum Transfer Claim

Good day, Red Devil. Here's the latest in Ten Hag's quest to assemble a more formidable squad in order to achieve the results he clearly did not achieve against Brighton.

Ten Hag would have preferred Antony for his unpredictable attack, but Ajax's high asking price has cooled United's interest in the Brazilian. According to the Irish Independent, United's search for a striker is far from over. In fact, the publication claims that, at Ten Hag's request, United has approached PSV about Cody Gakpo, who scored 21 goals last season.

The PSV man is considering a move to Old Trafford, and his contract is at least half of what United would have paid for Antony.

Gini Wijnaldum recently joined AS Roma, but Manchester United had an opportunity to sign him this summer. Ten Hag, on the other hand, vetoed the deal and informed the United board that the only midfielders he wanted were Adrien Rabiot and Frankie de Jong.

Rabiot's deal is a matter of time as United and Juventus have agreed to the transfer with personal terms remaining. Nothing has changed for De Jong: he still wants Barcelona to stay.
