In the absence of David de Gea, Dean Henderson has taken the lime light by keeping a clean sheet in three successive league matches. This feat is made even more attractive by his accomplished contribution in the derby clash where one they claimed the bragging rights by the odd goal. It is even more remarkable when you consider that in the 18 matches he has represented the club he has amassed a total of 12 clean sheets, and does not seem fazed by the hype in big games.
Coherently his club manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, opted to start him ahead of the more experienced David de Gea against AC Milan last week and he was vindicated by the result. Further to his credit, Henderson is comparatively younger and his defensive organisation is also making the defenders look far more solid.
David de Gea
David de Gea’s wages and his vast wealth of experience coupled with his reputation over years as one of the finest stoppers has made him undroppable despite the various managerial changes at the helm though now the tides might be turning. Having just returned from his paternity leave, it was expected he would have seamlessly slipped back into the fold though now it seems he has to battle for his spot in the team.
