After defeating Ecuador 2:1, something occurred.
Senegal got off to a good start by consistently posing a danger in front of the Ecuador box. Boulaye Dia missed an early opportunity that was available to him.
But just as it appeared that the game would end in a draw at halftime, Senegal was awarded a penalty. Before the half, Ismaila Sarr stood and scored with a no-look kick to put the score 1-0.
Around the seventy-minute mark of the second half, Ecuador scored off a corner, and Moises Caicedo was responsible.
With Senegal scoring a minute later through Kalidou Koulibaly, this gave the Ecuadorian team some new hope, but it was fleeting.
Tunisia, Ghana, and Cameroon are the current focus of attention because they are in a good position and still have a chance to advance to the next stage.
