UEFA Champions League

The Player Chelsea Has Been Struggling To Replace

Some of the best players in the Premier League have ever played for London-based club Chelsea. The current Premier League leaders have seen some of the greatest goal scorers, midfielders, defenders, and goalkeepers in football.

Great players like Didier Drogba, John Terry, Samuel Etoo, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard, and Peter Cech are some of the best players in the Premier League to play at Stamford Bridge. They had great success during their time in the west London side.

Chelsea is seeming to be getting back on the top since last season and most of their players have been performing well. However, the Blues have struggled since Eden Hazard left in the summer of 2019 and they didn't win a trophy until last season.

The UEFA Champions League holders signed some good players as the replacement of Eden Hazard and it was not easy to fill the big shoes of such a great player. They brought in the likes of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, and Timo Werner as his replacement but only Kai Havertz who has been making big difference for the team.

The German golden boot made a slow start in the Premier when he joined Chelsea but everything changed when Thomas Tuchel arrived. Kai Havertz's game significantly improved and proved to everyone why the Blues signed him on such a big amount becoming the most expensive German player.

He has been one of the most important players for the Blues and has turned out to be a regular starter for Tuchel. He has been a prolific goalscorer but he has been operating well as a false nine or behind the striker and won Chelsea their second Champions League trophy. He could end up a club legend if he maintains his form and remains at Stamford Bridge.
