Chelsea: Odoi to Make Big Decision, Tuchel's Plans for Next Season Revealed, Mendy Thanks Colleagues

Calum Hudson Odoi

As things stand, England are likely to lose out on Calum Hudson Odoi who according to reports, is seriously contemplating playing for Ghana. Odoi’s family has been pushing the 23-year-old to play for Ghana because truthfully speaking, it is in the Ghanian National team where he has wider odds of playing in the World Cup next year.

Odoi’s father is of Ghanian descent and that makes Odoi eligible to play for the African country. To add to the pressure, Ghanian fans have welcomed the player because they know that Odoi can add depth and quality to the current squad. England’s FA however are unrelenting and want to keep the player because they believe that Odoi will be a key player in their future ambitions.

Thiago Silva

Reliable sources have revealed that Thomas Tuchel has sanctioned expeditious negotiations for the contract extension of Brazilian defender Thiago Silva because Tuchel believes that the defender will be an important figure in Chelsea’s title race for this season and the next. Tuchel and Marina Granovskaia have been keeping constant communication in the past couple of days as they try to draft offers that would entice the player enough to guarantee that he stays.

Thiago Silva is currently happy at Stamford Bridge and this news will be big news for him because he is nearing his retiring age and the prospects of finding a new team at the age of 33 are very slim. Accordingly, paperwork and rigorous negotiations are expected to begin soon and the official announcement is to be made in two weeks time.

Edouard Mendy

Chelsea’s shot-stopper Edouard Mendy has thanked his fellow colleagues Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcus Betinelli for always pushing him to the limit on training. Mendy said that playing alongside such talented and experienced goalkeepers has been an educational journey for him as far as professional goalkeeping is concerned.
