Southgate's side got a comfortable win yesterday after playing with the lowest ranked team San Marino in international football at Wembley stadium. Three of Chelsea's players are shinning on their international duties. James Ward-Prowse opened the scoring for England at the 14th minute. He converted Ben Chilwell's cut-back before goals came from Calvert-Lewin and Raheem Sterling.
Despite the level of opposition that England faced, Southgate was pleased with the level of performance. He praised Lingard (who played for England after two years), Kalvin Phillips and Mason Mount.
The coach said that he was not only pleased with the way they moved the ball quickly and the interchange of positions but the way they pressed when they lost the ball. The ball highlighted the mentality of the team for the full 90 minutes.
Reece James performance yesterday was also outstanding. He managed to provide an assist to Calvert-Lewin's goal. The play is also performing better while in his club.
