ASV 3-0 EVE: Why Was Chelsea Academy Youngster Awarded 'Man Of The Match' After Playing For 20mins

Aston Villa went against Rafael Benitez's Everton on Saturday night in their 5th Premier League match this season. The game had ended as a 0-0 draw in the first half.

In the second half 61st minute, Aston Villa boss Dean Smith then added their new signing Leon Bailey who was a graduate from Chelsea academy a few days ago before joining Genk and then Bayer Leverkusen.

Leon Bailey played for Bayer Leverkusen since 2017 before joining Aston Villa in August 2021. Bailey was influential in the game as he led to Lucas Digne's own goal in the 69th minute.

In the 75th minute, Leon Bailey scored an outstanding goal after being assisted by Danny Ings.

Despite his contributions, Leon Bailey got injured in the 81st minute and was replaced by former Manchester United star Ashley Young.

After the game, Sky Sports awarded the Jamaican man of the match award. This is because he was the game-changer following his goal and assist.
