Morocco have become the second African team to qualify for the round of 16 after an impressive 2:1 win over Canada. The Moroccans looked strong from the very beginning and they were surely rewarded. The other African team that has qualified is Senegal who defeated Ecuador.
Hakim Ziyech gave Morocco the lead in the fourth minute after a beautiful goal. Ziyech has been one of Morocco's best player's in this tournament so far. Morocco gained more control of the game and they would later be rewarded with a second goal just before the break. This was as slotted in by Youssef El Neysri with an assist from Achraf Hakimi. The goal was scored in the 23rd minute. Canada was pressurizing as well and they got rewarded via an own goal scored by Nayef Aguerd.
All eyes are now on Ghana and Cameroon who have hopes of qualification still. Tunisia is the only other African team that has been eliminated so far.
