The Forgotten Kenyan Hero who Won The Only Gold In 1996

Today on 20th of October 2022 being a holiday celebrating the heros of this country many Kenyans gathered in many parts of the country to celebrate this heros.

Christopher Moori is one of the Kenyan heros who won the only golden trophy for participating in javelin throw at Atlanta in 1996 during the Olympics games for people living with disabilities. He is one of the Kenyan who live with disabilities and among the many Kenyans who have represented kenya as a country in sports.

Christopher lives in a small village called Nacheki in Kisii county. Today being a special day he decided to join the rest for the celebration at Gushi land where the celebrations where held.

He reports the he hired a matatu to drive him to the place for the celebrations. He also says that he managed to secure a place among the many people who attended the activity. The place was packed and different activities as per the procedures were conducted in honor of our heros.

Moori complains of anger and also being not recognized as a hero who represented kenya in Olympics for people with disabilities held in Atlanta in 1996. He managed to win the only gold medal for Kenya after participating in javelin throw.

He also adds that for him to arrive in the place for the celebration he borrowed cash from a well wisher and he has no cash to pay for a matatu to take him back home. He complains further by claiming that Kenya never gave a prize to him for the efforts he did but the only gift was given a house by a foreign investor which it was not completed up to date and he is in fear if the house collapsing at any time .

Moori says that since that day he has been training as part of life and he loves doing it.

Christopher Moori requests the government to recognize such people like him who represented kenya and bringing home a medal.
