AFCON Stampede:6 Dead As Others Rushed To Hospital With Injuries As Chaos Erupt In Stadium

According to the recent report,atleast six fans died in a stampede at the Younde,Olembe stadium on Monday 24th of January before the host nation's round of 16 game in the Africa Cup Of Nations against Comoros began.According to the report by the Central African Nations National Broadcaster,dozens of other were also rushed to various hospitals with injuries.The information reveals that according to the video that was also shared by Reuter,fans could be seen screening and being crushed at the entrance of the stadium.

The main cause of the chaos is not yet known,however,the continental soccer government body CAF said in a statement that it was aware of the incident at the stadium."CAF is currently investigating the situation and trying to get more details on what transpired.We are in constant communication with the Cameroon government and the local organising committee,"it said.Following a low turnout in the first round games at the brand new stadium built for the continents premier men's soccer tournament,an information reveals that the Cameroon authorities have thrown open stadium gates,organised mass transport and given our free tickets to lure fans.
