Chelsea receives harsh treatment at Etihad as City proceeds to the FA fourth Round

Chelsea were greeted coldly at Etihad Stadium after losing 3-0 in the first half. The Blues are dealing with a slew of problems, and with so many injuries, the misery keeps piling up.

The Bluemoons took the lead in the 23rd minute through Riyadh Mahrez. The Algerian winger hits his free kick beautifully, twisting it away from Kepa and into the back of net. Julian Alvarez then converted a penalty, and Phil Foden added a third goal to effectively end Chelsea's hopes of a comeback. Mahrez was back again in the in the second half to make it 4-0 and make the game out of reach fir Chelsea.

The first half of the game was dominated by Manchester City. After leading the West Londoners 3-0 at halftime, they are well on their way to the FA Cup fourth round.

True, Chelsea are dealing with a number of issues, but on this particular occasion, Graham Potter is the architect of his own demise. Knowing that Manchester City would be a difficult opponent, Potter began with experienced defenders such as Lewis Hall, Humphrey, and Chalobah.

The English coach is under duress and appears perplexed by his team's dismal performance. He could have let Thiago Silva play to boost the team's confidence and experience.
