Frank Lampard has been jobless since he was sacked from his managerial role at Chelsea on January 2021. The former blues Legend was offered the Everton job by the owner Farhad Moshiri after impressing him on the second interview. Lampard is replacing Rafael Benitez who was fired at Everton after poor results finding only one win in the last 14 games that Everton played while he was in charge.
His last game at Everton that saw him axed was the 2-1 defeat by the relagation side Norwchich city. Since his departure from the Toffees,Everton has been on a bid to sign a new manager. Their top priority was the Belgiam's football coach Roberto Martinez. However the move to sign him failed immediately after the Belgiam FA announced that the latter can not share his managerial roles. According to Football London.com, Frank Lampard faced stiff competition for the job from the Derby boss Wyne Rooney and the Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira. He is expected to take up his new role on next week and be in charge of Everton's next game against Brentford in the FA cup. Lampard will be taking over a team that is struggling not to be relagated.
