Arsenal have the advantage of landing Lisandro Martinez at the Emirates after submitting an improved offer of around £34.5million for the Argentine International and Ajax defender.

The centre-back is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder. Martinez has also been on Manchester United target after Jurien Timber snubbed a move to Old Trafford.

United are now prioritizing in signing Frenkie de Jong and therefore left the chance to let Arsenal sign the Ajax defender. Arsenal had earlier negotiated a deal worth around £25 million earlier this summer, however, according to Dutch publication De Telegraaf, Arsenal have now submitted an improved bid of £34.4 million with add-ons.

Ajax are yet responded to Arsenal's offer for the defender but they are insisting on a £43 million. There has been speculation over Gabriel Magalhaes future at Arsenal and Lisandro Martinez could be the best replacement. William Saliba is set to stay at the Emirates this season and will offer competition to Martinez if Gabriel will be lured to making a move to Juventus.
