Chelsea football club has announced the signing of Benoit Badiashile from Monaco for a fee of £36 million. The defensive midfielder is the first signing for manager Graham Potter who's having a hard time at Chelsea since joining from Brentford.
The news which were announced at the Chelsea official twitter account has fast gained the attention of fans and pundits who are looking yo see the player's impact at the club.
Badiashile confirmed this news by leaving a heartfelt message to his former club and teammates at Monaco. "I would like to thank all the members of the Club, the educators, the coaches and all my partners who have given me so much since I arrived at the club almost 7 years ago, to become the player and the man I am today. I am not forgetting the fans, for their affection and support," he said.
Badiashile has made 136 appearances at Monaco scoring just 6 goals. His performance at the club caught the eye of Didier Deschamps who gave the midfielder his first call up at the national team in the just concluded world cup.
