Ed Woodward Resigns As Man United Chief Executive

Man United Chief Executive is set to step down at the end of 2021. The announcement came after the club's involvement together with five other Premier League sides in the breakaway ESL withdrew.

The 49 year old has been in the club since 2005 but joined his current role in 2012.

The breakaway European Super League has received condemnation worldwide with large sections of fans against it.

When it was announced on Sunday about the new ESL Ed Woodward stepped down from his role in the EUFA.

This is what he had to say;

"I am extremely proud to have served United and it has been an honour to work for the world's greatest football club for the past 16 years," said Woodward.

"The club is well positioned for the future and it will be difficult to walk away at the end of the year."

Ed Woodward had been criticized in the past by the fans for their failure to challenge for trophies like the past.
