Barcelona are on the verge of appointing fifty seven year old former everton manager Ronald koeman as their new first team manager taking over from Quique Setien. The current Netherlands coach is expected to step down from his current position in anticipation for his new role.
Koeman is not entirely new to barcelona as he played for them and later held the position of an assistant coach between 1998 to 2000.
The news were first revealed by famous italian journalist Fabrizio Romano who works for sky sports and is a specialist in football transfers.Later, the guardian reported the same.
Setiens era at barcelona has been a complete failure failing to clinch any trophy this season. His style of play has also raised a lot of questions.Mere ball posession with nothing to show for it.His final nail to the coffin came last week when barcelona was thrashed 8-2 by german side bayern munich.
When valverde was sacked at the beginning of the year,Koeman turned down the opportunity when barcelona came calling for his services. This time round,he grabbed the opportunity with both hands
