Back in the days when we were in high school i used to see players being given a bottle od soda and a half loaf of bread as lunch. Indeed it also acted as motivation to players since this was a rare privilege. Currently the price of a bottle of soda 250 ml is ksh 30. This is exactly what kenyan government has offered to harambee stars players after a back to back match with Mali where Harambee stars lost both away and home matches.
According to a reliable source and who is also a popular radio presenter Fred Arocho, he has raised claims that each of the Harambee stars player has been given Ksh 33 as payment after the two matches. If translated it can only mean that each player has been given a bottle of soda as payment. One will be shocked with such news, but its time we embrace being Kenyans.
Although its not yet verified, this news has been received with alot of criticism from the online football fans. It shpuld be noted that many of the football fans have been urging the president of football federation Nick Mwedelwa to resign. Many have sighted that Mwendwa is the course of all the tribulations Harambee stars is going through.
Below is a link to the statement by Fred Arocho.
