Thomas Tuchel expected to complete at least two more deals before the summer transfer window officially shuts tonight, but it seems like his ambitions won't come through.
Romelu Lukaku is the only big signing the Blues have made this summer transfer window which was unexpected by the Chelsea fans.
Marina Granovskaia was working out on a deal for Jules Kounde which was touted to be closer to be agreed after the two clubs had a verbal agreement, but Sevilla betrayed Chelsea.
According to reliable journalist and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Sevilla sporting director has poured more cold water on the deal as the deal seems to be completely off.
Sevilla sport director Monchi: "Jules Koundé has chances to leave the club if some club will pay the release clause. Chelsea made a bid last week but we didn’t like it."
"If there isn't an offer which we feel we can reinvest well, then it won't be accepted. We had a deadline on August 20 but we received the bid on August 25, and we turned it down." Monchi concluded.
Thomas Tuchel is now set to go into the season with the options he currently has at club as the deal for Jules Kounde seems to be totally impossible.
However, Chelsea fans had previously cast doubts on the pursuit for Jules Kounde as they claim that youngster Trevor Chalobah ticks all the boxes of a top player who is set to become a top legend at the Stamford Bridge.
Thomas Tuchel and Marina Granovskaia are expected to make a final attempt to negotiate a deal for Jules Kounde, but Sevilla expect any deal to be done if the club meets the €80 million release clause that is in his current contract with the club.
