Facundo Pellistri finally made his official debut yesterday in a United shirt, in the Carabao Cup against Charlton.
Pellistri is an Uruguayan born youngster, who is 20 years of age currently. He is a graduate of Penarol youth system, where he made 37 first team appearances for the club. He impressed the England giants, Manchester United who then signed him back in October 2020, for a transfer fee that summed upto £ 9 million.
The winger also made his International debut for Uruguay on January 2022, where he grabbed a chance to represent the Uruguay National team in the world cup competition, back in November 2022.
Since his arrival at Manchester United, Pellistri had not gotten an opportunity to play for the senior side of the Red devil's squad. However, this only came yesterday where he was handed a chance to make his senior debut at Old Trafford by Erik Ten Hag. The 21 year old was introduced in 84th minute of the game, and he really made an immediate impact for the side. He grabbed an assist, for the Marcus Rashford's first goal which doubled the lead for Manchester United yesterday evening.
Facundo broke his silence on twitter, where he expressed his feelings of being happy with Ten Hag handing him his official debut. He wrote:
" The day has come. "
" Happy to make my official debut."
Though there are some clubs that want to make a loan move for Pellistri, United are on the verge to keep the lad at Old Trafford. The manager has admitted that he is really happy with the performance of the youngster. And therefore, it's more likely that he is in the plans of Erik Ten Hag in future.
Since joining Manchester United, Pellistri has had two loan spells at Derportivo Alaves, where he made a total of 35 appearances for the Spanish side.
Should Manchester keep Facundo Pellistri at Old Trafford this season, or opt for a loan move?
